A duty pharmacy is a pharmacy in Türkiye assigned by the Provincial Health Directorate and Regional Pharmacists' Chamber to stay open 24 hours at night, on weekends and on public holidays — so you can get prescription and OTC medicines when other pharmacies are closed.

Yes. Duty pharmacies in Türkiye operate 24 hours during their assigned shift, typically from 09:00 until 09:00 the next day. We recommend calling before visiting late at night.

Are pharmacies open on public holidays and weekends?+

Yes. The duty pharmacy rotation runs 365 days a year, including weekends, religious holidays (Ramadan and Sacrifice Feast) and national holidays. Each district always has at least one on-duty pharmacy.

Can I use my prescription at a duty pharmacy?+

Yes. Duty pharmacies accept both e-prescriptions (e-reçete) and paper prescriptions. Turkish SGK (social security) co-payment rules apply the same as during normal hours.
